Ich-Kien Lao
President
Kien has been working in the wireless communications and digital video industries for more than twenty nine years as an engineer and a hands-on senior executive. Prior to forming Effician, Kien was co-founder of Integrian Inc., where he held multiple executive management positions, most recently as Vice President of Product Development. Kien has had direct responsibility for cellular telephone development at both Ericsson and Millidyne, Inc. In addition, Kien has extensive experience in two-way land mobile communications and electronic circuit design at Aerotron, Inc. and General Electric Co. Kien leads a broad range of activities including research, design, and development of hardware and software platforms.
Kien is also an entrepreneur, who has built three successful technology companies from the ground up. Kien strongly believes in providing the best value services and products to customers. At Effician, Kien insists on integrity and employees who take pride and ownership in everything they do.
Kien obtained his MSEE degree from Ohio State University and BSEE from Ohio State University.
Randall Giles
CFO and Vice President - Operations
Randall has been involved in several early stage companies, including co-founding a $25 million distribution company in 1999. His operating and external investor relations experience will be invaluable to the company. In 2002 he led a management team that acquired the assets of an illiquid dot com and has acted as General Manager since. A former Investment Banker with Bear Stearns in the Corporate Finance Group in London, Randall focused on European equity market activities. Prior to this, he co-founded Nutripeak, a $25 million early mover dot com. Before co-founding Nutripeak, Randall was Controller and Vice President of the Board of Directors for Alliance Laundry, a Buenos Aires, Argentina based Bain Capital portfolio-company that focused on distribution of Raytheon Appliances in South America.
Previously, Randall was Finance Manager and Controller for Novartis’s Gerber Products distribution subsidiary in Santiago, Chile where he focused on sales marketing, and accounting operations for the distribution of baby food and related products to retail outlets across Chile and Argentina. He also served briefly as a Staff Accountant in Novartis’s Gerber Products Latin American headquarters in Miami, where he was responsible for reporting and consolidating across the region.
Completely fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, Randall holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Chile and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School. His undergraduate BA is from the University of Florida.
